There are no officially health criteria required, yet. Breeders are encouraged to regularly test for health and genetic problems. The IWSAC uses 'Breeding practices' and is a member of the CKC and must follow the Code of Practice for CKC members. Responsible breeders only breed from sires and dames who are cleared for OFA Hip- and elbows, (> fair, good or excellent) and OFA thyroid (normal) and CERF (clear, at least every 2 years). |
